Originally created in 1968, this dense and detailed floral was one of the designs included in Liberty’s first-ever Classics collection of 1979. First printed by William Morris in 1883, Strawberry Thief was part of a group of designs incorporating animals with flowers. Introduced as a furnishing fabric for Liberty in 1979, it depicts birds stealing fruit within Morris’s Oxfordshire garden. Willow Wood print is an archival classic, closely inspired by William Morris’s 1877 Willow pattern and updated with intense jewel tones for a richly modern impression.
One of Morris’ favourite motifs, the winding willow was used in several of his designs for textiles and wallpaper over the years.
